The Salado Swingers sandlot baseball team is stepping back onto the field for its 2026 season, building on the momentum of a successful inaugural year and continuing to revive the spirit of community-centered baseball in Central Texas.
The Swingers are a co-ed adult sandlot team, offering men and women the opportunity to compete, reconnect with the game, and enjoy baseball in its purest form. With wood bats, classic uniforms, and a focus on fun, the team blends tradition with a welcoming, community-first atmosphere. The 2026 season opens Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m., when the Swingers face their favorite rivals, the Temple Freighthoppers, in Salado at the old baseball field.
Much of the team’s early success is credited to the steady leadership of Head Coach Cliff Rosenbaum, whose commitment to player development and team culture has set the tone from day one. Under his direction, the program has grown in both participation and local support.
The team’s progress is strengthened by the backing of key sponsors who share a commitment to the love of the game. Barrow Brewing Company serves as a primary sponsor and community partner, hosting the team after every practice and game. Nationally recognized non-alcoholic craft brewer Athletic Brewing Company supports the team’s balance of competition and wellness, while Dialed In Athletics makes sure the team looks their best on the field.
Game dates and additional season details can be found on the team’s official Instagram page, @salado.sandlot. The Swingers invite the community to bring a lawn chair, gather along the baseline, and be part of a growing tradition rooted in teamwork, fun, and small-town pride.
